Yeah they were happy to be shot of him. Gotten a bit unlucky today with a lot of broken bat/bloop hits and a homer on a pitch that wasn't near the strike zone. But he has not pitched good since the Blue Jays start.

Thank God Hyde has enough sense today to not let Flaherty flounder, but the rate things are going it might still be tied before Perez gets warm.

It might be my imagination because I’m not a Flaherty fan, but watching the other players in the dugout when he starts struggling, it doesn’t really seem like they have any affection for him as a teammate.

With Kevin talking about the tie-breaker with TB, and how a series win by either team could be a dramatic turn, it reminded me of how the O’s had to win four in a row to overtake the Brewers in ‘82. I had forgotten that the final game was actually game 163 and that it was a make up for a tie of all things from June. They had gone nine innings in that June game and the rain came in and would not let up. I had totally forgotten that aspect of it.
