Being left handed doesn’t make you a specialist. Irvin is a starter who was put in the pen because there wasn’t a spot in the rotation.

Plus, the 3 batter rule minimizes the impact of matchup pitchers.

They could do Hays, Mullins and Hicks in the OF with Mountcastle 1B and Santander DH. I don’t think they’ll put in McCann with Adley DH over any of them.

You could be correct. Should also be considered that Adley has almost .100 higher OPS as a DH than at C.

McCann is very good defensively and seems to call excellent games. We seem to get our most dominant pitching performances when he catches, and the pitchers like him. For that reason, I think we see Janes McCann catch a playoff game.
