I doubt it but hope so. Now the teams are going to have a hard time negotiating with Jordan Montgomery and Snells of the world. Snell has a CY Young in both leagues.

The dodgers won’t be in on Cease now. This is good for us. And Yamamoto stayed out of the AL East.

Honestly this was all just a dance that lasted way too long to drag every drop of blood out.  If the Dodgers are interested in a free agent and really want him they are going to get them and pay way over asking price because they can.  The only other team with that ability is the Mets honestly to match them the other teams are playing with confederate money.

Hopefully the Mets pivot to the other Japanese pitcher and Snell, and Montgomery. Let’s get this market rolling.

Why would this take LA out of the Cease running? They have room in their rotation.

Folks are starting to see/understand why ME prefers the development route.  It’s gonna make watching out youngins lift that WS all the more enjoyable.

The Dodgers had to clear some roster space and do a prospect/prospect trade with the Yankees after Ohtani. Elias should see if we can snag one of their SP arms in AAA/MLB that won’t make their superstar rotation for a position player.

The remaining free agents that we have to really worry about coming to the AL East,

Snell - Giants? Red Sox?  Mets?

Montgomery - Yankees?  Texas?  Mets?

Imanaga - Mets?  Red Sox?

Hader - Mets?  Yankees?  Red Sox?  Jays?  Texas?

Of course other guys are good, but not that this level.

Shohei possibly has gone LeBron as far as a baseball player ever has....in terms of global elite talents, Roki Sasaki is the next domino it'll be interesting to see where in MLB he ends up.

I was thinking they had Kershaw. LAD makes sense. They have a need and have a slew of SP that are MLB ready/near ready in AAA that they could do a 3-1 trade for Cease. 

Yamamota, Buhler, Glasnow, Miller, Open

They could offer 2-3 of Sheehan, Stone, Frasso, Hurt, Ryan, and Knack. 

The CWS could get 18ish years of rotation pieces for 2 years of Cease. Starting in 2024. We can’t touch that deal.
