Don’t know if it was mentioned, but the O’s have moved passed the 1922-1924 Yankees who had 83 consecutive series without a sweep.  We are now at 85.  20 to go to tie the second place 1903-05 NY Giants.

Did those teams get swept in the playoffs?

6-4 (54 RS, 34 RA)

7-3 (63 RS, 59 RA)

6-4 (40 RS, 28 RA)

7-3 (43 RS, 31 RA)

1-0 vs. NYY, 3-0 at CIN, 1-1 at WSN, 2-1 vs. ARI, 0-1 vs. TOR

It’s amazing how sour we can get about losing two games in a row.

7-3 (63 RS, 59 RA)

6-4 (40 RS, 28 RA)

7-3 (43 RS, 31 RA)

6-4 (48 RS, 38 RA)

1-0 vs. TOR, 2-1 vs. SEA, 0-3 vs. STL, 3-0 vs. CWS

Here’s the cumulative record through each 10 game stretch this year versus last year (this year first):

6-4; 5-5

13-7; 13-7

19-11; 20-10

26-14; 26-14

32-18; 33-17

Pretty similar so far.   This year the O’s have outscored opponents 248-190 through 50 games; last year it was 257-212.

Won today and messed up the pattern.  Besides that one span we’re pitching struggled we are giving up 3.2 runs a game pretty amazing for a team that needs like 4 new pitchers in a trade in a hurry or season is over.

The consistency is incredible.

It is. Pitching has only had one bad stretch. Offense has had 2 slightly below average stretches by their standards. Only one below league average runs and that was by 0.3 rpg.

I know teams playing at a pace of over 100 wins are playing at a high level but it’s remarkable.
