Always possible that Hyde said Adley is fine physically in response to a different question that isn’t included in this quotation, though. Not trying to call anybody out. 

That said, if he’s not hurt, where Hyde is wrong is in saying that “lots of guys go through this.” Lots of 26-year-old guys do not go from being the best guy at their position for 2+ years, with metronomic consistency, in the midst of a hot streak leaving them at essentially career-best heights — and then wake up one day and find themselves playing like a bad backup catcher for months, in every aspect of the game. That’s unusual.

I guess I'm somewhat relieved that's he's not dealing with bad back pain, but he's playing like night and day worse, defensively and not just offensively compared to the player he had been with the O's.
