He's not on the 40.

Wasn't McKenna DFA'd off the 40? My theory with Norby is that he is a fringe guy who they will lose when they run out of options. Its not worth it to burn an option if he is just replacing Hays for a few days. Whereas McKenna they can DFA again.

I really cannot stand McKenna. Not an easy play, but one he definitely should’ve made he was just standing there for like a good two seconds. He’s in there to do one thing and he can never do it.

This!  He has to get his head in the game and make that catch.

McKenna admitted to losing focus when he blew a catch at Fenway last year. I'm not quite sure what McKenna's deal is, but he has a slow reaction time (at times) when it comes to tacking balls hit his way.

He reacted slow because it was at him. Always easier to react when it’s away from you. He should have caught it but it’s not like there wasn’t a reason.

Right Field by Peter, Paul and Mary should be his walkup music.

Catch probability is a farce IMO.  That’s a 105.9 mph screamer at the toughest possible angle directly over his head.  XBA of .740 on that hit.  Catch probability uses hang time and distance and general direction but it does not adequately account for the angle the fielder has to take IMO.  No way that ball’s caught 85% of the time.  50% at best.

You think 50% if an outfielder gets a decent to good jump?

I thought same.

This is just my opinion, but that type of hit is the hardest one on which to get a good jump.   That’s one of the reasons why I say it’s a 50% catch probability.   50% of the time the OF is going to get a slow jump on that ball because it’s hard to read.

Next we will hear how great a team mate McKenna is and how he likes the way he turns the double play.  That no way anyone else could be out there in rightfield to turn that double play.  And he likes the veteranosity and he likes how McKenna punches big guys.  He gives the Orioles an edge.  Blah blah blah.

McKenna does not belong on a winning team.  Not when you are carrying dead weight already in Urias and Mateo.  Oh the great defense they bring...how they hit so well.  Great team mates and they turn the DP with the best of them.

Let them go play on Odor's current team.
