The Tides are a little short on starters with Zimmerman going on the IL yesterday.

They have  Povich, McDermott, Armbruester, and Stalling.  5th starter spot is open.

They had a 40 roster spot open because of DFAing Yohan Ramirez.

It would be a while before he gets in the rotation if the plan is to put him there. He's pitched 10 innings all year for MIL/ARI and all out of the pen. They didn't stretch him out to start, maybe due to the stuff, or all of the injuries he's had.

Meh. He was a solid prospect before the pandemic. But that's been a while now. Perhaps they can salvage something and turn him into a solid reliever...or perhaps he's DFA'd in a couple weeks.

Good point.    I guess Heasley goes into the Tides rotation and Martin would be a reliever.

I have been waiting for Elias to DFA Ort but he has not done that  yet.

Open spot on the 40 man so why not claim someone to fill it. The ability for Cowser and Mateo to play CF has made McKenna expendable. Stowers and Hays can play CF in a pinch too.

Sometimes moves like this work out. See Coloumbe, Webb, Urias, Mateo, and O’Hearn.

It'd cost more than Boardwalk, but now we need Corbin Carroll to build houses and hotels on Corbin.

He was part of the give when the Astros assembled the depth-oriented package for Zack Greinke.

With very mild apologies to Jake Rogers, I believe only Joe Musgrove really became much out of the gives for Verlander, Cole and Greinke.

He did pull a million dollar bonus when he was their 2nd rounder way back when.
