Bring on the robots

I have been calling for robot umps for several decades now, but I do not know if we are any closer than when I started.  And during that span of time the umpiring has gotten much, much worse.  Back in the birth of baseball people yelled kill the ump, but if that were shouted now a person would be  arrested or worse.   There has always been Human Error involved, but only the Lord knows what else is in the mix now.

After last night's brutal hose job from Laz Diaz, the Orioles are now last in the league in TotFav.  We've lost almost 8 net runs to umpire mistakes this season.

I think Kyle Gibson has it right:

The more I hear about the robot umps, the less I like the idea but I think technology should be used and replay would be good.  Should be very easy and very fast…ala tennis.

Hell my Golden Retriever could call a better game than last night. Trouble is, you'd have a lot of spit balls!

It's a crying shame when one very bad call by the home plate umpire, on an obvious strike, can cost a team the game. 

It happened to us yesterday. 

How critical can one single win can be at the end of the regular season, as for the playoffs coming?
