He would say that. Whether he could have done that or not, I’m not sure.

I don’t think Boras is the devil like some make him to be, but I think that comment is pretty tacky though.

Apparently they are easily getting 50+ million a year just in advertisements.

Seems to me there used to be an All-Star Game rule that, barring injury, the starting players, other than pitchers, had to play the first three innings.

So how come they pinch-hit for Alvarez in the third inning?

Deferrals were Ohtani's idea.

Yeah, he wanted to be an LAD and not cripple them from keeping stars around him. Smart for the Dodgers, they basically got him for free.

30 players on each side now. Need to get them all an AB or whatever.

I think the Dodgers turn a profit off the contract.

One rival agent offered up a jaw-dropping estimate.

“This may be close to an $800 million to $1 billion gain for the Dodgers over a decade,” the agent said, noting that if the team were to simply take the $680 million in deferrals and invest it — say, with an asset management firm like Guggenheim Partners, which is run by Dodgers owner Mark Walter — then the money could more than double in a decade’s time.

“They may be able to make $1 billion extra,” the agent reiterate
