I think this is the Orioles low point and with Starters healthy I expect 2025 to be very good.  Having a lefty in the Rotation is so needed and maybe Povich is the one.  We will see in 2025.   No one could have endured what the Orioles did in 2024 with Starters injuries and made much out of the season.  I generally do not use injuries as an  excuse, but this really was the situation in 2024.   I thing any fair minded person would  say it was the case this year.   So 2025, I have great hopes for.  Go Orioles.

Seems like they didn't want him to see the Tiger's lineup a third time. 

Bullpen gave up 2 ER in a tight game, imagine that. 

Bats just didn't show up.

The bats hardly ever show up. Sadly I kind of just want this season to be done with. Such a disappointment

He walked 23 people in his first 8 starts, and in the last 6 only 7!

Great point.  And one of the few really nice bright spots right now...to see he was able to make such a dramatic turnaround with his control/command.  Let's hope it continues and we have ourselves a nice back end of the rotation starter that we don't have to trade prospects for or sign to a big contract...

      When I'm tempted to blame the injuries, I remember the hideous stretch of baseball just before the All-Star break where the team scored four runs in five games and went 0-5 against the Cubs and Yankees with a healthy Westburg, Mountcastle, Urias, and Mateo. If not for Alex Verdugo falling down it would have been 0-6 with seven runs in six games. Hell, they even had midseason Austin Hays to match up with instead of Slater. Maybe this is what they always were.

      I hear you. Like I said prior to Rubenstein I don't think Elias can be graded responsibly because JA handcuffed him but moving forward with DR as owner he deservedly so will be graded accordingly if he continues his conservative ways and bringing in only fringe guys and we have more seasons like this.

      I would bet the Giants were thrilled he made that move. Why? they were in a good spot either way. Has the hitting become so bad that were giving out merit badges for balls that are hard hit? Holliday wa just as eligible to fall on his ass there.

      I'm not sure who's saying that Adley was disappointing in his first season; I didn't say that. I just said he struggled badly for 20 games. It's just one data point in a pattern.  People think top prospects should crush the ball like Juan Soto did as soon as they hit the majors.  Sometimes that happens but it's got to be pretty rare, maybe even rarer today than in years past. This also seems directed at someone else, it doesn't have anything to do with what I wrote. My own personal opinion about Holliday and Mayo is that they aren't quite ready.  They're on the Orioles really because of injuries to other players.  Holliday especially has way too much in the way of expectations on his shoulders.  These guys need some more time.   No argument on Holliday, the results clearly tell us he wasn't ready. Mayo I think is falling into the trap of needing consistent PT to get adjusted to the point where he's at least contributing something, and not getting it because the O's can't afford a black hole in the lineup right now. It becomes something of a vicious circle.

      I don't think it was giving up the at-bat at all.  Holliday has finally started hitting balls hard again and Slater has looked pretty lost of late.  It was Hyde robotically playing the L-R matchup rather than having a feel for how the game was playing out.  I would bet the Giants were thrilled he made that move.

      Thats not what I was saying at all. I would argue that pinch hitting Slater was “giving up that at bat” Holliday had hit two balls hard, including one of our only hits to that point. He was the bette option in my opinion for that at bat and the eventual future at bats.
