Co-hitting coach Ryan Fuller, Fredi Gonzalez and Jose Hernandez let go, Matt Borgschulte leaves

None of this is surprising but the Os Baseball Operations continues to behave more like a large corporation or govt org when it comes to personnel changes i.e. very passive aggressive.  Coaches not feeling secure and pursue other options, Elias doesn’t work hard to counter or retain.  Pursue new coaches.

Net effect is new bench coach and hitting staff which will be expected to help players and team reach full potential.   Hyde enters 2025 as manager most on the hot seat.

From the Banner:

"The Orioles will have a new hitting department next season after two of their main major league coaches decided to depart the organization.

Last week, co-hitting coach Ryan Fuller was one of three coaches to depart. And now co-hitting coach Matt Borgschulte is leaving Baltimore to return to the Minnesota Twins organization, a source confirmed. It remains to be seen whether offensive strategy coach Code Asche will remain."

Will be interesting to see if his position on the Twins is a promotion, a step down, or a lateral move.

  • Tony-OH changed the title to Co-hitting coach Ryan Fuller, Fredi Gonzalez and Jose Hernandez let go, Matt Borgschulte leaves

My take is teams smelled blood for Orioles coaches and these guys got offers very quickly after the season. I think both decided to take jobs/promotions/resume builders rather than risk being fired and in limbo, which may or may not have happened. We'll see where Fuller goes.

This is great and all, but does it mean we will see an entire organizational hitting philosophy change? Because I am continually reminded by O's "X" and podcasters that swinging for the fences is analytically more effective in the playoffs.
