Ball was bunted, so Koji immediately came in towards home. But it was popped up over his head, and by the time he recovered and headed back, all three of them (SS, 2B, pitcher) were about 6 feet from the ball when it landed, about half-way between the mound and second.

Edit: Between the rubber and second, so like PrivateO said, just behind the mound.
