Congratulations to Scott Boras. He hung Fielder out there long enough until one of the idiotic owners would finally give in and give him a ridiculous contract. My federal tax dollars are probably paying for part of his salary since everything else in Detroit has been bailed out by the federal government.

I knew the Orioles had no chance in the Fielder sweepstakes for this very reason. The longer you wait the better chance one of these idiot owners will cave. Congratulations Tigers, you are now the Yankees of the central Division.

His stats don't justify 300 million. He's been very, very good for four years, but he hasn't been Albert Pujols good for four years, and he'll be 29/30 when he hits free agency (I think).

This might be better than the Pujols contract also...Pujols is 5 years older and got a longer deal... It all depends on whether Fielder breaks down at a young age due to his weight.

Seriously, though, I love that Fielder went to the Tigers. He gets to play for the same team as his father, and Scott Swaim's career can finally come to an end.
