Absolutely the smartest man in the business. How he got this deal when no one was going over 6 is beyond amazing. Detroit better hope they win in the next year or two, and even then, I don't know if a title is worth THAT contract.

Wow... thank God we did not sign him at that amount. What happens when VMart comes back next year? Where will everyone play? This just does not make sense. Though it does lock up the AL Central for them this year.

I agree with this. I've been secretly pulling for us to get Fielder but at that price with that many years I'm fine without him. I'm also glad he didn't sign with the Nats.
