Why does everyone think that adding Fielder automatically makes the Tigers a sure fire bet to win their division? The Brewers had Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, and a much better overall team than the Tigers and look what they have done. Does it give the Tigers one of, if not the best #3 & #4 hitters, sure. Do they have Verlander. Yes. But the rest of their squad is not overly impressive and they lost V-Mart for the year which hurts them. All I am saying is that they did get better with the addition of Fielder but they are no lock to win their division or even make the playoffs.

They will, if their starting rotation holds up. Of course there's no guarantee, but who is going to challenge them? The white sox are rebuilding, the twins have injury concerns, the royals are improving, but have a ways to go.

Well they had 105,705,232 in 2011... so add $23,000,000.00 to total... you get $128,705.232.00.

So they are probably between $125MM - $135MM

So why did the Tigers go nine years? Nat's were only going to go seven years at best. They just extended Morse and really are looking for a center fielder.
