Timmy broke his 3-game losing streak in which he gave up 16 runs (15 earned) and 8 walks in 16.33 innings.

And in the process, he got his E.R.A. under 5.

2 earned runs over 6 innings, but 5 walks, also.

And not a run from the Giants' offense.

Timmy is now 4-7 on the season overall.

So does the last couple of years of Tim Lithicum give more credence to the scouts who thought this guy had major issues with his windup and that he wasnt worth wasting a first round pick on?

I'd still have done it, considering how dominant he was for the first few years

The Cy Youngs he earned were definitely worth a 1st round pick compared to the tons of never-weres of other first rounders. At the top of his game Timmy was the best in the league.

Kind of like the scouts who knew Nolan Ryan's arm was a ticking time bomb. Something snapped and his career ended. At 46.

After you've gotten a bunch of value out of a pitcher who cares?

Not really. The Giants certainly got their worth out of him and I could see him now make a Dennis Eckersley-type of conversion to the bullpen.
