Markakis has small disk herniation between c4 and c5 vertibrae. Recovery time is 7-14 days. But he's already been out a week.

Markakis has a slightly herniated disc- heals 7-14 days and is still on track for Opening Day.

Lets hope the estimate is accurate.

Better to catch this now than a month from now. Still, I don't like this at all. "Herniation" is never a word you want to hear.

Agree. Anytime it's a little mysterious and hard to pin down, it seems like it's not good. No one thought Reimold's injury would be season-ending when it first happened.

Still, I'm cautiously optimistic here. For some reason.

Markakis has small disc herniation. C4 c5. Seeing spine specialist in Balt.

It seems odd to me that you'd have Markakis get on an airplane, bad neck and all, for something like this. Is there really no competent spine specialist within an hour's drive of Sarasota?

Not odd at all. Want the best/someone you and the team feel comfortable with especially when it comes to spine. Players in all sports go all over the country to see doctors they trust and feel comfortable with all the time.
