(vs. WHITE SOX, 6/14)

The Orioles overcame a 5-1 deficit to defeat the White Sox by a score of 10-6.

Now if they can get some decent starting pitching in addition to the heart, they might fare better.

The starting pitching ....... it's what the Orioles need.

The offense and the bullpen have done a reasonably good job in most of their games, as of late.

The Orioles got some good starting pitching tonight, to go along with their heart.

You know what blows my mind? There is a 167 run difference between the Yanks and the O's (Yanks +96, O's -71) and yet the teams are 3 games apart in the standings. How does that happen?

Being just 3 games back in the WC may get Angelos to rescind DD's authorization to sell some key pieces of the team. We've seen that story unfold before.

Unfortunately, heart doesn't get you an OBP over .300, or an ERA under 6 for a starter ...... If the Orioles had those traits, they would be running away with the division.

Last night was yet another example of the tune that this team has often played to this season ...... plenty of heart, but awful starting pitching.

For better or worse, games like last night's are one reason why (IMO, anyway), it's possible to believe that with some improvement in the SPing (and Ubaldo DFAed), the bullpen and the offense (with Davis back and Manny and Trumbo picking it up) can carry this team to the WC game.
