If he played in Texas, Buck likes him.

Honestly, I'm pretty confident he'll be your AAA starting CFer. He's not on the 40-man, and he belongs to the O's now. It's not bad as a depth pick, you just don't like to hear that worrisome quote from DD.

Agree with all of this. I realize Borbon would probably be a very good defensive OF, but a .318 OBP is just awful. We have enough of those types of OBP.

Longest non-signing ever Vlad Guerrero, 2003.

"Longest signing EVER......???" This has only dragged on for 4 days, hardly an Orioles record.

That is when and why I found the hangout. The greatest Orioles news aggregator in the world! I was so fooled into thinking we were actually getting Vlad.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Orioles are "confident" of signing closer Grant Balfour.

Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports that the Orioles want to give him two years while Balfour would prefer three. Meanwhile, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com hears that it's doubtful an agreement will be worked out on Thursday. The 35-year-old is coming off a 2.59 ERA and 38 saves this past season in Oakland and would replace Jim Johnson as Baltimore's closer.

This doesn't add to the news at all but I've been to O.Co Colosseum when Balfour comes in and the Balfour Rage that the fans do is actually really fun and exciting. Really gets you pumped for the 9th inning.

Interesting all the dialogue between the two sides that appeared to convey real, mutual interest on a two year deal and now it seems Team Balfour wants more. I am sure that is a frustrating for our FO as it is for the fans.
