Can someone please explain Yangervis Solarte to me? He looks like their best hitter! Why don't the Twins still have him?

He's the BABIP Queen. 429.

Career minor league numbers: 286/336/397 - 733. 8 seasons. He'll be 27 in July. He's a pretty poor fielder. So, basically he's having a very lucky start to the season.

I can't root for the guy, honestly. He hits a routine flyball to Nick Markakis...and in the process does the bat drop, slow trot. Seriously, get back to the dugout.

Can you imagine switching from the Orioles to the Yankees and back again, all in the course of a week or two ??? Ugh.

I think that the people that do that should live in Alaska or the far northern sections of Europe for a few years, where it is daylight for 6 straight months, and then dark for 6 straight months ...... just to see what it's like to actually stick with something for awhile.

You guys aren't paying attention. Yankees fans have inundated the Trop for years, as have Red Sox fans. They both have huge fan bases in Florida as so many of them are transplants.

Small example from 7 years ago: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/16/sports/baseball/16fans.html?fta=y&_r=0

At one point, Weaver essentially retired 18 out of 19 Yankees (one of the 2 baserunners that he allowed in that period was erased on a double play.)

In top of the 8th inning, the Yankees loaded the bases with no outs ...... and Weaver promptly struck out Brett Gardner, and got Derek Jeter to ground into an inning-ending double play, keeping the Yankees off the scoreboard for the inning.

In the bottom half of the 8th, Yankee pitchers walked 6 Angels (1 intentionally) to plate 3 Angel runs, and give the southern Californians the lead for good.

Ernesto Frieri set the Yankees down in order (2 via strikeout) in the 9th to seal the deal for Weaver and the Halos.
