Face it Folks - The Detroit Tigers Are Simply a Much Superior Team to the Orioles

Scherzer, or "Mack" as many announcers seem to call him because they can't pronounce "Max", is the Tigers' new Verlander. Anibal Sanchez scares me too. Verlander looks like he might ride that hype train for a few more years of mediocre performance as the Tigers hold out hope that he'll rediscover his best stuff, then retire to a life of spending time in the bedroom with Kate Upton. So I doubt Verlander will be a big part of the Tigers' future, except to give them losses and maybe get relegated to the bullpen like Ubaldo.

Detroit just keeps pulling aces out of their sleeve, though. Losing Verlander is almost irrelevant with Scherzer, Sanchez, Price and Porcello waiting in the wings.

Well they won't be losing Verlander any time soon. He's signed through 2019 with a 2020 vesting option. $28m per year.

So you think those two crazy kids are going to make it work longterm?

I am glad to see two of the "old school" teams with limited budgets making it to the ALCS..MLB won't be happy. The old KC teams, like the O's, played the game right and did the little things that made them good. I don't think the Tigers are a team, likewise the LAA.

Nobody on this planet is any happier for being soooo wrong! I should have known that the regular season is meaningless when it comes to the playoffs and I also have always believed that past stats have little value in predicting games especially a short series! I also should have known that this Os team actually fares better against aces and with thee Cy Young winners in a row to beat how the heck could they lose? :agree: I am an idiot but an extremely happy one!:clap3:

Yeah if the Tigers did any scouting of the Orioles at all they should know the best way to beat them is not with cy young aces but rather some AAA junkball thrower making his first big league start. :)

Funny but actually there is a lot of truth to that!
