Very discouraging that he's suffering these freak injuries at such a young age. Whether or not he has taken adequate care of his body throughout his life is a fair question. I wonder if he's gotten enough micro-nutrients during his youth.

Please explain micro-nutrients?

He has genu valgum (knocked knees in laymans terms).

This is an alignment issue that results in an increased risk of the type of knee injuries that Manny has experienced

They are not freak accidents, they are the result of his defect.

It's a blow, but let's not overreact here. We're talking about extremely small sample sizes in the playoffs. Davis and Pearce could prove just as effective (or even more so) when we look at a five game set.

This would be a much bigger blow if the O's were in a tight divisional race, where the 36 game sample size gives a greater opportunity for lost value.

The orioles have a serious problem with their team doctors. This needs to be addressed. This is twice that Manny got 2nd opinions that resulted in surgery.

Nope.

They aren't missing this. They are more likely playing Buck's baseball. In other words: Strategery.

Well, it looks like we got ourselves Mickey Mantle's knees here. Let's just hope we get 500 home runs out of the deal.

This is freaky. Manny with knees made of porcelain and two pitching prospects getting Tommy John surgery. Wow..

Yeah between Gausman struggling, bundy and hunter finishing their seasons on the dl and machado not having completed a single major league season yet, it's hard to stay positive about the orioles ability to develop talent and keep it healthy........seems like our "Calvary" has gone Custer twice in a row now.
