This is an absolutely must win game. Fortunately since its against Duke theres very little chance the team comes out flat like they did for the first 30 minutes of the UVa game.

Unfortunately, Duke is on a 3 game losing streak and while not nearly in a must win situation, they certainly don't want to lose 4 straight and fall below .500 in the conference.

Talk about a huge game for both teams...Each team this one badly...MD to get into the tourney and Duke to get some confidence back and get their season back on track.

I think this is as close to a must win game Duke has had in a long time. It is virtually a must win for the Terps. A loss means their only real shot is winning several games in the ACC tourny or sweeping Duke and UNC in the remaing 3 games (not going to happen). I do not see MD beating UNC period.

Not if he shoots it like he has since ACC play started.

Jones has been a ghost for most of ACC play, and not because he hasn't been given chances. He just hasn't made enough of his open looks and he doesn't do anything but shoot jumpers anymore. Last season when he took over for McCray he was much more agressive going to the basket and creating his own shot. Now he just stands at the wing.

He's got to do something other than let the rest of the team play 4-man offense while he waits for a jumpshot that he'll probably miss anyways. He was at 47% on 3's before ACC play, he needs to get back to at least 40% and start doing some stuff on his own if he's going to be scoring like this team needs him to.

Wish I could say I feel the same way. I want to believe they will be ready and focused for the game but who knows with these guys. The Virginia game was just as important, they had a good, loud supportive crowd in that must win game and came out and crapped the bed for 30 min.

If they do come out and play from the opening tip, they will probably win. They match up well with Duke. Their guards aren't as quick as a lot of the other ACC guards and Ibekwe and Gist have a chance to be effective in the paint against some of ther big men.

This team is better than the 1996 team.

You underestimate them.

This is the worst performing (record-wise) team since 1995.

I agree they are better than they're record, as almost all their losses have been by a handful of points.

I'm probably gonna be away from my computer for most of the weekend, so I won't have time to trash talk appropriately, so here's my quick attempt:

Duke sucks!

Hopefully its a good game on Sunday. If Maryland shows up it should be. If not, it's gonna get real ugly. Our season's pretty much over if we lose, so I think they'll come hard.

Assuming Maryland comes to play, I think the game will come down to if McRoberts can contain Gist and if Maryland (DJ and Greivis most likely) can slow down Scheyer and Nelson. I think whoever comes out on top in those two matchups wins the game.
