Wow Coc, that's very telling. Thanks for sharing that. You guys that have been doing this for years - and have the time to do it - are great at finding this stuff. So, the numbers in terms of hard hit balls and exit velocity do not rhyme with the ERA. And, hit HR/9 is also not horrible, and consistent with his past years. I could see Bieber being a crapshoot in terms of what we'd get for the next year and a half.....but I agree that there is some concerning regression. -

Does seem unlikely. But Kjerstad is going to AAA any day, and is the kind of hitter who might be able to skip a level. Him coming up would mean O’Hearn down and possibly Ortiz up. It could allow us to get a look at Kjerstad to see if he could help us in the fall when Mullins returns. If he struggles you send to AAA where he was going anyhow. And I’d rather replace Mullins in the lineup with someone like Kjerstad than Cameron or McKenna. On the downside he hasn’t played LF hardly at all, and moving Hays to CF isn’t ideal. Just not sure what other solution I’d prefer. -

BA and OBP are fine, but SLG about 100 points below his career average. That’s a severe power outage. Still, Trey is on a two-year deal, so he’ll be given plenty of chances to right the ship. -
I agree but they have locked up Cruz, Hayes, and Reynolds all who have less years of service but haven’t done it with Keller. It seems a lot of these deals where they buy out years comes from positional players and not often with pitchers. It is bigger risk for tram and even players it seems with pitchers. -

You may or may not be right about who eventually will be traded.. In a scenario where we are trying to lure players from a team that is not in the playoff hunt, those teams will want our prospects, not the major league guys that won't be part of their longer term rebuild. So, I do see a Westburg, Ortiz or even Cowser as the players teams will WANT more than those that you listed. That's the part that I don't think people get....other teams don't want the guys we want to get rid of....they want the guys that we want to keep, and that is also a dilemma when it comes to trade decisions.
