Take Chen, for example. His agent is Scott Boras. And sources say Boras is prepared to make the case that Chen deserves well north of the $20.625 million average annual value Rick Porcello received in his multiyear extension with the Red Sox around Opening Day 2015.
Chen, while older than Porcello, had a superior ERA+ in the ’14 and ’15 seasons than Porcello did in ’13 and ’14. Chen also has the benefit of (theoretically) allowing 30 teams to bid up his market price; Porcello was able to speak with only one.

So, is Chen a $22 million per year pitcher? How about $23 million?

Awesome. I like Tolleson. And yes, every year he's been on the Orioles big club, we've gone to the playoffs.

The Orioles have interest in a new deal with free agent outfielder Gerardo Parra, Crasnick also tweets. But Baltimore isn’t looking to go past two years with Parra, who was a trade deadline acquisition. From my perspective, that stance makes a reunion unlikely.

This might upset some posters.

I won't be upset unless they actually sign him. I'd rather give Hoes a shot.

That part thrills me. I think that going past about 2/10 for Parra is pretty loopy. Parra is kind of a poor man's Jay Bruce - three years ago they were good but haven't done anything at all since but teams will probably be expected to pay like it's 2013.

The Orioles' minor league signings that were announced Tuesday include many familiar names. http://fw.to/cspWMoF

all of whom will receive non-roster invitations to big league camp this spring.

The list includes many familiar names. Seven of the eight have been in the Orioles organization at some point over the past four years.

The only one of the eight who has no previous Orioles ties is South Korean first baseman Ji-Man Choi, who spent the past five years in the Mariners organization.

The Orioles also signed infielder Steve Tolleson, who played with the big league club in 2012, as well as right-hander Todd Redmond, who was in big league camp with the O's in 2013. The club also re-signed right-hander Pedro Beato, left-hander Cesar Cabral, left-hander Ashur Tolliver, infielder Ozzie Martinez and catcher Audrey Perez.
