Tillman

Gallardo

Gausman (3rd or more likely 5th starter, April 10.)

Ubaldo

Gonzalez is trash all spring. That leaves Wright/Wilson. Pick one. Whatever 5.

Britton

O'Day

Givens

Whoa Bundy

Brach

TJ

Matusz ... or he might be DLed..

Slim pickin's after that, if Brian gets DLed...

I can't find anyone on the 40-man. So replace Matusz with X

Wiets

CD

Schoop

Manny

JJ

Kim

Adam

Trumbo

Pedro

Caleb, Reimold, Flash and Rickard.

I think that's 25. All dependent if Matusz goes or if we need a replacement. Absolutely no LH candidates to replace Brian... if we pick a RIGHT-handed replacement for Brian... Chaz Roe is like our best option. And not a very good one.

So... my official 25-man starts here...

Tillman

Gallardo

Ubaldo

Gausman (4th or more likely 5th starter, April 10.)

Gonzalez (or Wright or Wilson)

Wieters

Davis

Schoop

Hardy

Machado

Kim

Jones

Trumbo

PA2 DHing mostly I hope...

Joseph, Flaherty, Reimold and Rickard on the bench

Britton

O'Day

Givens

Brach

TJ

Bundy

and X in the pen.

Looks good to me. IMO, Rickard has earned the chance to start against LHP. I would platoon him and Kim to start the season. If he looks to be over his head, put him back as the 4th OF and give Reimold ANOTHER shot.

For me, if Rickard hits, fields, and runs the bases better than Kim then i would pick Rickard to start.

We have to have at least one lefty pitcher. I would guess TJ over Drake. I would also guess Worsley over Wilson but would like Wilson.

This team never likes to get rid of guys, and always makes.the rookies earn it.

Worley still has a chance to pitch better before OD. Let's see if he is up to it.

Worley is going to be expensive to keep if he doesn't get it together real soon.

I think this is right Wildcard. I think Phillips may make the team as a lefty over Drake. The move is to cut bait with Roe and keep Drake and Phillips, but I don't think DD will do that.

Of course, subject to change.

Roch has posted that he made a mistake. Buck said he is going with 12 pitchers opening day and not 13.

Thanks. His tweet yesterday contradicted his post. Reading the two, I got a sense that the blog post was missing the word "not".

Is this what I think we will see or what I think we should see? Either way, I think it's pretty similar:

C- Matt Wieters

C- Caleb Joseph

1B- Chris Davis

2B- Jonathan Schoop

3B- Manny Machado

SS- J.J. Hardy

LF- Hyun Soo Kim

CF- Adam Jones

RF- Mark Trumbo

DH- Pedro Alvarez

INF- Ryan Flaherty

OF- Joey Rickard

UTL- Nolan Riemold - I think he still gets this spot, but I could see it going to Walker or Tolleson or a number of others

SP1- Chris Tillman

SP2- Yovanni Gallardo

SP3- Ubaldo Jimenez

SP4- Tyler Wilson

SP5- Kevin Gausman - he could start on the DL to make room for a bullpen arm (Roe??)

CP- Zach Britton

RP- Darren O'Day

RP- Mychel Givens

RP- Zach Phillips (until Matusz is ready)

RP- Brad Brach

RP- Dylan Bundy

RP- Vance Worley
