Will Caleb Joseph be Ubaldo's personal catcher?

With Wieters expected to play less often than in previous years, will Caleb start with Ubaldo every time?

sounds like a good plan to me. he certainly deserves some playing time and then we have Matt on the bench to pinch hit late in the game if needed.

If Matt stays healthy, I see a good split being 65/35 with Wieters getting some DH opportunities against lefties. I think we'll see Wieters lined up with Gallardo.

Caleb is great at framing and Ubaldo's weakness is throwing strikes. Makes sense.

Caleb has caught 8 of Ubaldo's 9 starts. I kind of pity him.

If Ubaldo winds up in the pen, then if/when he comes in, whoever is catching will be his catcher. They're not going to switch catchers to accomodate a middle reliever.

YEah really. A guy like Wright--with a blazing fastball might be a pen candidate, but a "walk machine" is no good for the pen.

You can't tell anything about his defense since he has been catching Ubaldo the majority of his starts. He hasn't been good offensively, but again it is hard to tell anything from 60 ABs. Jimmy Paredes looked like Ted Williams through 60 ABs last year.
