I was in attendance at the only game of his Orioles career, May 29 at Fenway. Sedlock came on for the fifth inning in relief of Bruce Zimmermann, who was terrible, and surrendered a run on two hits in his first frame. Then he settled down, pitching a 1-2-3 sixth with a pair of Ks; then he got through a scoreless seventh, albeit with some loud outs.

If he had been pulled there, it would have been a good line for his debut: 3 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 3 K. Unfortunately, Hyde sent him out for the eighth, and he faced four batters without recording an out, all of whom scored. Rough day at the park.

That said, I wish him well.

He's a guy who was misused in a starter's role over the last three years. He's got a good changeup though it didn't move well in his only major league game. Everything else is below average. I would have liked to have seen him used as a one to two inning reliever and see if things play up a bit more often.
