At Czar markopolis' request to post information about other teams picks to this thread, I've reposted this here.

Jim Callis, on his way to a Chicagoland studio to participate in ESPN’s draft coverage, reports the Royals appear to have settled on Mike Moustakas with the No. 2 overall pick. That would slide Josh Vitters to the Cubs at No. 3. The Royals looked like they were on Vitters at 2 last night, but they now have changed their minds. Indiana prep righty Jarrod Parker is the odd man out in this scenario, dropping from the Cubs at 3, probably to the Diamondbacks at 9 or Giants at 10. He won’t get past the Marlins at 12.

This leaves the Orioles as the biggest question mark in the first five picks. Stay tuned.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.–Before I had even made it into the front door of the draft room, a couple of executives in the parking lot snapped shut their cell phones with looks of surprise on their faces.Just as Jim Callis predicted last night, the Cubs and Jarrod Parker were trying to work out a predraft deal worth $2.35 million, which would make Parker the No. 3 overall pick. But if Josh Vitters is available at No. 3, the Cubs are expected to go in that direction.

Last night, it appeared Vitters would be gone at No. 2 to the Royals, prompting the Cubs to target Parker.

Parker, a righthander from Norwell High (Ossian, Ind.), is one of a handful of players who didn’t enter the spring with as much as hype as some of his high school counterparts, and he was considered a slightly more economical choice, giving the rumor legs.

Let's use this thread (not the Orioles Draft thread) for all general draft discussion, including picks from other teams.

Reuters-(June 7, 2007) No one is shooting up the draft boards faster than North Dakota HS phenom Sil Opkram. This LHP, originally from Southern California moved to Owetanka Air Force Base in ND when his Dad was transferred there in this, Sil's senior year. He hadn't played baseball before he arrived on base just this spring.

At 6' 9 215, this tall and lanky red head with the scraggly beard caught the eye of scouts at his Owetanka HS game versus Hoover HS, who were there to see another player. Since his games were delayed by a typically late schedule and bad weather, scouts happened upon him just days before the draft.

With a fastball that touches 101mph and an assortment of secondary offerings that would make Dice-K proud, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays are having second thoughts about the top pick in MLB's first-year player draft later today.

This guy could come from nowhere to upset Price as #1?

Ok. I hope this is a joke. But then again, you can't really go wrong with tall, lanky red heads with a scraggly beard.

Actually it was Randy Johnson pitching batting practice to his illegitimate son who he is hiding in North Dakota.
