What if it was 12M to play for a team that had a good chance at competing or 17M for the Phillies?

Keep in mind any team that needs his services badly enough to cough up a pick isn't going to be a lock for contention.

They're going to get better in a hurry.

After seeing the Brett Cecil contract, can't complain about keeping the bullpen together one more year. Britton is still a bargain even after arbitration.
