Is O'Day the right reliever to trade?

Britton is the right reliever to trade. His value will never be higher and teams are giving up great packages for closers.

Correct. I think it is comical people thing Brach for Mallex Smith is a good trade for us and others think we should trade DOD and his high contract will net anything but a fringe prospect, if that.

Britton, Brach and Givens will get you more value then O'Day currently.  O'Day's age, injuries last year and contract don't make him as valuable.  If some team wanted to give up a major league ready top prospect for O'Day the O's have to seriously consider it.

I do think O'Day could raise his stock considerably if he has no injuries and is pitching well at the deadline. Right now his value is as low as it has been since he has been on the Orioles.

I'd do it if the salary relief were to directly help us sign Fowler, who is pretty much the only expensive FA left that I would want. But otherwise, it doesn't make sense to sell low when we have other relievers to trade who will bring back more value.
