Tomo Ohka signed to minor league deal

I had to a double take on this one because it seems like a decade since this guy has pitched in the big leagues.

I was close.  Has hasn't pitched in the bigs since 2009 and is now 40!  He reportedly picked up a knuckle ball while pitching in Japan.  It must be a pretty good one because I don't see how he would get a contract with a big league team otherwise.  Will be interesting to see what he does in Spring Training.  Those knuckle ball guys....

Who says this is a slow offseason.  We've had a signing a day for the last week.

Has "Beef" actually signed the dotted line?  He may balk after hearing we signed a knuckleballer.  A catcher's worst nightmare.

Rooting for him just because he's 40 and didn't give up. Long shot but if his knuckleball is effective, that's a nice weapon to have especially in the AL East.

Doubt this turns into anything, but as long as he doesn't take away valuable A game innings, I don't have an issue with it at all.
