Brach to the Rockies makes a lot of sense. They have a stud 3B prospect in A ball I'd love for us to acquire (blocked by Arenado and Story - if he moves over at some point).

Nah, give us Ryan McMahon who is a very good 3B ready to be put in the starting lineup right when the trade goes down.

Colton Welker. Hitting .365 as a 19 year old in low A.

Looks like there is a good chance McMahon will end up a first baseman. Welker has the tools to stay at third and be a strong defender there.

Well, they just signed Desmond to a 4-5 yr deal this offseason and listed him as a 1B. In the OF due to injuries right now, but once Dahl returns/Tapia is up that team is loaded in the OF so you have to figure Desmond moves back to 1B. There's a real log jam there. McMahon has been ready since last year.

Why do the Indians need Britton/Brach when they have 2 dominant arms in Miller and Cody Allen? They're the #4 bullpen in baseball.

They may want to have a better BP than anyone else?

I don't think Welker is necessarily blocked.  Nolan Arenado is to Colorado as Manny Machado is to Baltimore.  Arenado has an extra year after Harper and Manny's free agency, but he's going to push $400M too and it'll be tough for the Rockies to do that.  What will be interesting is if McMahon can go back up the spectrum from 1B to 3B at that time, but I'm not sure they'd mess with him after a couple years if he's settled in at 1B.  McMahon's perhaps the piece to sell to support the Arenado Rockies, and Welker's the hold for the next generation.

It happens.    We had an excellent bullpen already when we traded for Miller.

We have maybe the best right handed bullpen piece when taking in contract and control of player.
