Buck not a fan of taking pitches

Anyone else hear the interview with Roch before the game? There were a few gems in there about how you can't wait. Have to swing. How you might walk a few times, but guys need to be "driven in". And something derogatory about analytics/sabermetrics I can't remember right now.  I was cringing.

Buck has done tremendous things for this organization and we should be forever grateful to him for that, but his traditionalism is starting to wear a bit thin and I'm of the mind that the best thing for the organization going forward might be to lose both he and Duquette. Finding good replacements, of course, will be crucial, and with Angelos picking them, it's certainly a risky proposition, to put it mildly. We might end up even worse off.

Most hitting coaches say this.   I've heard it for years from all kinds of sources.  It's not something Buck invented.

The mystery of hitting. You sit there like a boob you are toast. You swing like the Tasmanian Devil you are toast. You transcend earthly shackles you become Barry Bonds. In between there is a lot of speculation.
