Cubs target again?

Baez would be a good target, but he has some serious holes in his swing. Russell would be an even better target. Why not trade Manny and Britton to them for Russell and prospects?

I love watching Baez play.  Very exciting ball player.  With his approach on offense, I don't want him here.

However, if they did get him, where would you play him?  Would you move Schoop to third and slide Manny over?

Not interested in Russell due to his off field issues from last year.

If Britton is still the main target of the Cubs,  trading Baez makes more sense than Almora. They still have Zobrist who can play second along  with infielders in Happ and La Stella.  Plus the Orioles are thin on infield prospects.

I’d definitely do this, and it makes some sense for the cubs especially if they think they can re-sign Machado.

Where do they play Machado? They have Bryant at 3B and Russell at SS.

If this rumor is true you have to think that Machado is on the market. Why else are you looking at another fielder with Manny, Beckham, and Schoop?

Why would they do this? He's under team control for a few more years, and having a giant hole at SS after Manny leaves in FA would be stupid.

Maybe they can consider him the right player and would immediately give him 300 million that he would want to sign
