I am less happy about Joely and Edgin both starting in the minors. Seems like a decision based on roster management rather than the best 25. Castro doesn't seem right to me, and Tillman and Wright haven't earned anything. I just don't think we can afford to be carrying that many guys who are struggling.

Let Rodriguez prove it in the minors, where he's had consistent command issues. Folks complaining about Rodriguez going down are the same ones saying spring results don't matter. Let him Actually prove he's a changed pitcher. He signed a minor league deal. I love that we have him down there.

Absolutely. And then you have more moves coming very soon with Cobb and Trumbo. We all should know by now the roster will be in constant flux.

Absolutely no defensive or base running benefits and he's been terrible at the plate this spring. I hope he does well too but I don't think he will.

I'm not real happy that Wright made the team.   He looked this spring a lot like he has for the last three years.  I would rather have put him through waivers on the day before opening day and kept Joely.

I don’t get too caught up in the OD roster.    Some guys will do surprisingly well, other guys will falter and be replaced.    The leash won’t be long with Wright.

Well Cobb we be here soon. At that point unless there is an injury Wright will be gone or Castro sent down.

Tells me he is going to play a lot until Trumbo is here. Only other explanation is over an opt out or didn’t want to upset him.

I bet it’ll be Castro unless Wright looks really awful. They want to stretch him out as a starter at AAA, even though I’m not sure it’s a great idea. Definitely expect him optioned when Cobb is ready.

Yeah, I don’t mind Joely getting sent down for that reason. I think Joely is deserving of a spot though, that’s not from his results, it’s the process/stuff. From the outings I saw, it’d put him at a 60 FB, 55 SL, with 50 command.  That’s a pretty good reliever, results notwithstanding.

I can't see Castro being sent down if he is pitching like he did today.

If Pedro makes the team and then Trumbo comes back, can he be sent down? I would rather keep him in the minors, unless there is some news about Trumbo that we don't know about.

Another thing is who we are playing. The Yankees have some balance, that said Sanchez, Judge, Stanton in the middle of their order, all RHH. Houston’s has some balance but best hitters are Altuve, Springer, Correa and Bergman, all RHH. 

I can see that being another reason to send a lefty specialist down.

Pedro would have to go through waivers to be sent down.  And Pedro can refuse the assignment.

He can be claimed. He can’t go down without his permission.
