Jim Palmer just threw Chris Davis under the bus

This team has come full circle and is back to the circus it was prior to Buck's arrival in late 2010.  It's sad to see, and I never thought I'd see it from a Buck-managed team.  He changed the culture and we saw the results from 2012-2016.  Even in 2011 when they struggled, they were at least on the same page.

The organization needs an enema, from top to bottom.  Smh.  Total and complete utter dysfunction, to say the least.

As an aside, doing it now won't help anything.  The die is cast for this season.  Just hold your nose and pray that it ends quickly.  But this offseason, they need to clean house, IMO.  All good things must end, and unfortunately, this turned from a good thing to the furthest thing from it.

Buck distancing himself from Coolbaugh?

Latest Meoli tweet:

"Buck said he sides with Chris Davis and sees the work going in, but these are the types of things that happen when teams are going this way."

Shocker. Honestly all this news means is that Buck will  bat Davis 4th for the next 30 games straight out of spite.

Nothing changes the fact that Davis is hitting, like, .154.  BTW, what Davis is doing this year is like, Mario Mendoza career averages.

So we can talk about who worked with who and when, Palmer and what was said last night, Davis' hurt feelings and on and on, but it's not going to get any better, anytime soon.

I feel bad for the guy.  It's gotta suck to be this bad at your job.

If Davis was making adjustments at the plate, trying a lighter bat, choking up on the bat, I might feel bad for him.  There has been no change in his approach the last two years.

I do too, but it doesn't seem like he's doing himself any favors...

The good old days.

Sunday, Coach Rick Dempsey had to restrain Segui from going after Jim Palmer. Evidently, Palmer criticized Segui and Segui took exception and was yelling at Palmer "why don't you wear a uniform then criticize me"? Segui should visit Cooperstown, he will see Palmer's uniform.

Lol. I forgot about that. Funny on so many levels.

It's been a busy 24 hours since Palmer made headlines by saying Anderson enhanced his performance with steroids in 1996, when Anderson set the Orioles' single-season franchise record with 50 home runs.

Palmer did, indeed, say what many others have speculated. However, only Palmer -- like Charles Barkley, who said he was misquoted in his own autobiography -- could suggest maybe he was misquoted or taken out of context. Or, more outrageous, Palmer suggested that the radio broadcast tape might have been doctored to make it sound like he had accused Anderson.

"In a perfect world [where the players were tested for steroids], we'd know it was all about Brady and what he did. I don't know how he did what he did. The right thing is to have testing. It's not about infringing on the players' rights but to level the playing field," Palmer said.

Mendoza hit better. And got paid a lot less. That's a sad comment but true.

Work, not work, going through the motions who cares? The name of the game is results. This team gets an F in results. All teams have to be careful when signing a player to a long term package. He has the money whether he works or not..the question is whether he has a passion once he has the money. It appears Davis among others on this team has zero passion. He'll be collecting millions long after his playing days. Team passion is on Buck, it's not getting done. When Buck first came to the O's, he would have a team event in ST..some kind inspirational thing. In the last 2-3 years I haven't heard of such an event. Likewise, the Front Office percolates so long  during the off season that there is little reason for players to be upbeat. I don't know who is running the show or sabotaging the show. I don't know where the buck stops, but where that buck stops better start doing something soon.

    • Congrats to Henderson and Rutschman, hopefully there will be many more to come for them As for the others, I guess we need to start at the bottom of the standings if we want every team represented: CHW (24 wins) - Crochet must be the favorite to represent the Sox, maybe Fedde but no position players OAK (31) - Mason Miller for sure. LAA (36) - Tyler Anderson.  Three pitchers so far DET (38) - Tarik Skubal, pitcher #4.  Riley Greene, maybe in addition. TOR (39) - Vlad Guerrero already in.  That's going to be it. TEX (39) - this is definitely a road block team for Orioles hopefuls with Bochy managing.  Look for Josh Smith to usurp Westburg for a spot.  Marcus Semien may make it too despite his poor hitting.  Kirby Yates also probably makes it, maybe even Nathan Eovaldi.  I don't think he'll ignore Bobby Witt for Corey Seager. TB (43) - I'd consider Isaac Paredes their best candidate and MLB may step in for that.  Makes it even harder for Westy. HOU (43) - Altuve and Alvarez are already in.  There may be some massaging with Kyle Tucker getting an OF nod and then being replaced due to injury.  Ronel Blanco has a good shot. BOS (45) - Yet another 3B is their best candidate in Rafael Devers but I think MLB goes with Tanner Houck.  Maybe they get both.  Jarren Duran another strong candidate. KC (47) - Bobby Witt and Salvador Perez will back up Gunnar and Adley.  Seth Lugo makes it. SEA (47) - Gotta be a pitcher, I dunno who, Logan Gilbert I guess.  So we're up to eight pitchers for sure. MIN (48) - this one's tough.  Joe Ryan?  Correa as SS#3?  Jose Miranda?  Does Carlos Santana take a spot from Mountcastle?  I actually think it may be Byron Buxton taking an OF spot. CLE (53) - Ramirez and Kwan are in.  Josh Naylor may take Mounty's spot.  Emmanuel Clase should be a lock. NYY (54) - Judge and Soto already in.  I'm really not sure if they get more than those two.  I would've added some pitchers a month ago. BAL (54) - so here we are, Rutschman and Henderson and ???  I think Burnes is next likely to get a spot, there is room on the staff for him.  I think Santander is next after Burnes as chances go; OF is surprisingly thin and if Tucker gets ILed out he can step in.  Westburg's gonna get snubbed for one or both of Paredes and Devers .  I don't think O'Hearn will make it and that is not a snub.  Mountcastle is the wild card; I think a spot will come down to him or Naylor.  Kimbrel does have a shot at making it as crazy as it may sound to us.
    • I'm not sure why you think Vlad shouldn't be the starter. As for Mountcastle, I'd look pretty hard at Josh Naylor.
    • Another left on left too. He just crushes baseballs.
    • Westburg and Mounty should be the reserves right? They came in 2nd.    Mountcastle should have started over Vlad.
    • Paredes will probably be the Tampa rep. He plays third mostly but not just third.  Devers is the only other third base candidate and it’s really close between the 2.  They could take Westburg as the back up at second though.  Just a matter of who they pick from Texas and if they give it to Semien. Jaren Duran should make it. Santander has a chance. Westburg has a chance. I still think it’s Burnes, Gunnar and Adley and that the other 2 position guys plus GRod and Kimbrel get left out.  We really should have 4-5 guys imo.
    • As with most things, the point of my post flew way over your head.
    • I refer you back to my first comment. There is zero reason or need to trade anyone above Kjerstad.
