We’ve gone the Puerto Rico HS route twice before in recent drafts and those guys are still in the GCL. I guess they are just a bit behind there in competition.

Echevarria might be a little behind, but Yelin Rodriguez is about a half a year younger than Hanifee and could start in Aberdeen this year. That's not behind. Also, if you are going to get a decent HS arm in the late rounds without significant overslot (Yelin 20th, Echevarria 21st) they have to be raw, almost by definition because if they weren't, they'd be gone. These are lottery tickets for the team, like Adam Stauffer, the raw, big bodied Pennsylvanian taken in the 19th round last year.
