Craig Gentry has the second highest WAR of Orioles position players

Machado is in first with 2.0 WAR and Gentry is second with .7 WAR according to baseballreference. I'm not saying Gentry is amazing or anything, but he isn't a massive liability like everyone is making him out to be.

This is probably the most depressing O's statement I've heard this year. 

That's beyond pathetic.  It's actually somewhat hard to wrap my head around.  Buck, Brady, DD, all the Angelos family, the coaching staff, and the players should be really really a shamed of themselves.

There are several players with better oWAR than Gentry but apparently playing them out of position is just killing us.

BB-ref has Mancini at -2 dWAR.   That seems insane to me when he's only played in 63 games so far.    Jones is not much better at -1.4.

Are we chasing literally the worst defensive outfield in the modern era?  

Not even sure how to look that up.

This says a lot more about Schoop, Mancini, Jones, Davis, and just about everyone else than it does about the value of Gentry.
