Of all the current Orioles on the 40 man roster, how many do you think will be here in 4 years from now?

    • 0: Complete overhaul. Elias comes in and just gets rid of everyone Terminator style
    • 1-2: There's a nugget or two here.
    • 3-4: I'm bullish on some of our guys
    • 5-6: I'm drinking the Kool-Aid
    • 7-8: I just have no idea what's going on

This is probably best asked after the offseason when new players have been acquired but its kinda slow now and we need stuff to talk about.  So here I am. :)

Of the players on the MAJOR LEAGUE 40 man roster right now, who do you think is a part of the Orioles in 4 seasons from now?

I also want Frobby to bump this thing in 4 years from now as only he can.

It's a good question and tricky because you chose 4 years instead of three.  Personally, I think the answer could be zero as well at 4 years, but I am going to go 2.5 and I will vote three to take the over.  lol

We have a big group of players that their careers could go drastically into oblivion or into general usefulness. No super stars from what I see...but guys like Mullins or Nunez or Sisco could be average major league players in a few years.

I thought about making it 3, thats probably a trickier proposition.  But as bad as we are, I felt that our next .500+ team would be in 4 years.

I'm going 3: Harvey, Hays, Mullins.

All three will be cheap with upsides of major contributors and floors of solid, inexpensive pieces. Harvey is the wild card here. I think a new regime comes in and switches him to a reliever where he has potential to be an asset. Pretty confident Hays and Mullins will be pieces at minimum.

Of course... if Harvey turns into a solid BP arm he could be tradebait. I'm sticking with 3.

Best bets are Kline, Hays, Stewart, Mullins, Tate and Ortiz.   I’m guessing some attrition from that group so I went with 3-4.

Wow!  Really walking on the wild side - Tate, Stewart, Ortiz and Kline!  Have you been talking with Sig?  I can't wait for the bump but I will be 79 and doubt coherent by that time.

When does CD's contract expire?

IF CD is on the roster in 4 years, it will be because Chris Davis has had a turnaround unprecedented in MLB history and Elias will be running things for a much richer team than the Orioles.

But the answer to your question is that CD has 4 more years on his contract. ;)

Cool idea for a thread.  Probably should copy in the current 40 man roster into one of the first few posts for the sake of posterity and all.
