This kids stats in College and the minors are pretty amazing.  Like insane good.  pitcher of the year good as a senior.

Why was he a 26th round pick with a 4 pitch mix going 10-0 with those numbers?

And why would the Rangers trade him to us for slot money?

This guy seems real good.

Not a lot of innings in the minors and he was also older than the competition.

Hoping Elias sees something we don't.

Yeah I am more looking at his college numbers.  Not too shabby in the minors either.....

Brocail was with the Rangers organization he likely advocated for Lebron.

Zoellner trade, not signing the Cubans, Elias trading slot money twice already.

Those first two transactions were completed before Elias. Is there anyone worth spending money on at this point? Don’t we need more of a scouting structure in place before we sign people?

What difference does that make?

If ownership isn't willing to spend money than Dan will trade the slots away.  If ownership isn't willing to spend money than the O's won't have the high bid for Mesa or Gaston.

I think the fact that they have shown a reticence toward using the slots to acquire International player under multiple decision makers makes it more likely to be an ownership mandate.

As for what might be out there, the Dodger players still might get cut lose, the situation with Mexico might get settled and who knows what other Cubans might be coming over.

I don't see a need to trade slots in February.  Obviously the Phillies and Rangers seem to think the slots are worth having.

But that’s operating under the assumption that Elias isn’t authorized to spend. We haven’t seen any indications of that. Just a carry over from the previous regime. What’s the point in lying about spending internationally?
