Can you explain the pieces that Boston or Seattle has to equal a Mayo + Kjerstad + more prospects trade? By the way (as I know that you already know) both Boston and Seattle’s issues are offense. Seattle in particular already has tremendous starting pitching, same is true for Philly. IMO given Philly’s salary structures and where they are luxury tax wise, they are going to need to backfill their roster in coming years with some of the prospects that they currently have. But yes, I agree that Philly has the prospect capital to do something like was suggested (not from the position player prospect side though - which is would Detroit really needs). Boston and Seattle, not so much IMO. -

Hard pass for me! The pitchers mentioned are not difference makers. IMO this would be a hedging move very similar to last season. The problem with that approach IMO is that we most likely will never have a Corbin Burnes on the roster along with Adley and Gunnar. IMO the more time/seasons pass by and we don’t get Adley and Gunnar locked up, the less likely it is that they will stay long term. I don’t think there is any realistic scenario that we are better without them/when they are gone. At some point you have to start shooting for the bullseye (championship). This trade IMO does very little to meaningfully improve us enough to increase the likelihood that we get there. -

If Skubal was truly made available, teams would pay a lot. I could see Boston doing something big. Philly could. Seattle as well.
