As of today he's 4th worst all time.  Duncan had 11 steals and 28 caught that year.  Milligan must have just been thrown out on the bases an absurd number of times.  Dave Parker makes the list twice.  Nice to see Aubrey Huff up there, right next to the 41-year-old Pete Rose, probably still thinking he's 22.

I got it from an article that started by critiquing Puig's base-running.   https://www.espn.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/54131/yasiel-puig-and-baseballs-bad-baserunners

Since 1950 -- the first season for which there is complete play-by-play data -- Baseball-Reference's worst baserunning season belongs to Randy Milligan of the 1991 Orioles, who rated at minus-11.2 runs. That year, Milligan made six outs on the bases, was picked off twice, went 0-for-5 as a base stealer, grounded into 23 double plays and took the extra base just 25 percent of the time. Oddly, he had taken the extra base in 53 percent of his opportunities the year before, so he either lost his "speed" overnight or got injured.

The 10 worst baserunning seasons since 1950:

1. Randy Milligan, 1991 Orioles, -11.2 runs

2. Cecil Fielder, 1993 Tigers, -9.6 runs

3. J.T. Snow, 2000 Giants, -9.4 runs

4. Paul Konerko, 2006 White Sox, -9.3 runs

5. Dave Parker, 1985 Reds, -9.3 runs

6. Magglio Ordonez, 2008 White Sox, -8.7 runs

7. Kenji Johjima, 2007 Mariners, -8.5 runs

8. Harmon Killebrew, 1970 Twins, -8.5 runs

9. Billy Butler, 2010 Royals, -8.1 runs

10. Mike Piazza, 1996 Dodgers, -8.0 runs

No surprises on that list, which includes a bunch of big, slow guys who grounded into a lot of double plays and rarely took the extra base. Fielder took the extra base just 19 percent of the time in 1993, Snow 21 percent in 2000, Johjima just 17 percent in 2007. Parker was a little faster but was 5-for-18 stealing bases.

Wilkerson needs to play in 25 games, get most of his reps at 3B/2B/or COF, only swing against righties, and learn how to steal a base.  He is fast, and has good sprint speed analytics. He's just never developed into a base stealer.  But if his job is to play defense, steal a base or pinch run, and he can put up something close to the .783 OPS he had against lefties, he's a piece.

He isn’t going to turn into Justin Turner but he has skills and part of me is worried he will get released and some other team will be able to hone them.

Did you forget to take your pills this morning?

Show us one single thing I have said in ANY of my posts in any thread where I support/defend Glenn Davis. And, no, citing factual stats proving that Moose did not lose time -- Milligan finished with the 3rd most PAs in '91 and the 4th most PAs in '92 -- does not count as sticking up for Glenn Davis or being an "apologist" for him. We will be waiting...

Did you see the part where I said "Well, I stand corrected." or were you too busy being offended?

In regards to being a Glenn Davis apologist, lighten up and take a joke.

But if you don't think Glenn Davis was brought here and made Milligan expendable, you're crazy.

The acquisition of Davis, 29, gives the Orioles three first basemen, with Randy Milligan and David Segui already on the roster. Davis, whose 144 home runs over the past five years ranks sixth best, is a right-handed hitter, as is Milligan. Segui is a switch-hitter.

Manager Frank Robinson said he was not concerned about the crowd at first base and wouldn't speculate on the possibility of one of the three being used in the outfield. He did confirm that the addition of Davis could expand the outfield playing time of Dwight Evans, whom the Orioles signed as a free agent last month.

Milligan, likewise, said he has no resentment toward the players who made him expendable -- first basemen David Segui and Glenn Davis. "The Orioles have a good lineup," he said. "I've always liked David's tools. He's a good ballplayer. He'll do fine.

"Why should I feel bitter toward Glenn? He's a great person. I have no ill feeling toward him at all," said Milligan.

When it became obvious his days with the Orioles were over, Milligan had some decisions to make. One will result in a loss to the community he has served well.

And as a result of the positive test, he is no longer a Brave.   The contract had not yet been signed, I guess the coronavirus test was part of the pre-contract physical.

So he's a free agent again!   Want to move this back to the Oriole page?
