15 opening series, zero sweeps

After three games, every team in baseball is either 2-1 or 1-2.    The statistical odds of having 15 three-game series and zero sweeps are about 75-1.     Interesting way to start the season.    Let’s just hope it’s also not an interesting way to have finished the season.

And there were a lot fewer teams (16) in 1954, so the odds of it happening then were only about 10-1 rather than the current 75-1.
