Apparently the Padres are using Rougned Odor in RF while they await the return of Tatis:

And he sent Travis d'Arnaud to the concussion IL after this play, in which Odor was called out because the runner behind him touched the plate before he did:

Such a weird play. If the catcher is blocking the plate without the ball, shouldn’t Odor’s run count? Since he didn’t touch and Kim scored first, didn’t Kim “pass the runner”?

If Odor didn't touch, the run doesn't count whether the catcher was blocking the plate or not...right? so you're correct, Kim passed the runner and they're both out.

Also, whatever Odor puts in his coffee every morning to be the person he is, I want just a taste. The dude is not great at baseball but man does he always seem like he's loving it.

Not exactly.  They aren't both out.  Once Kim touched home, Odor became a "retired" runner and could not go back to retouch.  In fact, he'd have been better off not trying to, as the Braves may not have noticed he missed home and might not have appealed had he not made it obvious he had missed home by going back to retouch.  He can go back to retouch up until the time that the subsequent runner touches home.

Austin Wynns, DFA'ed Monday by the Giants, cleared waivers and is now a free agent.

What's funny is that he was in the catching competition for the Giants with: Joey Bart (just came off the IL and has not lived up to anything close to his anticipated potential), Blake Sabol (struggling heavily right now with the bat and isn't a catcher by nature, but is a Rule 5) and Roberto Perez (out for the season after tearing rotator cuff.) Gary Sanchez was also signed as a potential, but he is hitting around .150 in AAA.

Great job Giants!
