What more appropriate time is there to promote a player? Hey, I'm glad they finally did it, and hopefully they will do the same with GrayRod asap. Frobby
RBI single for Rutschman off Matthew Liberatore, 1 for 3 so far.
Frobby
Now a double, so 2-4. Also catching a 1-hit shutout through 8 innings.

Sports Guy
Apparently his 2 outs were hard hit balls too.
orioles22
Curious to see if he helps the pitching staff at that level. He's off to a great start.

Just Regular
Some sunshine from a BP fantasy guy who saw him vs. Severino last week: An overwhelming sense of calm permeated Rutschman’s body language as he strode to the plate last Tuesday night against Luis Severino, who was making a rehab start for the Patriots. This gave me a chance to press fast-forward on Rutschman a bit, to see his current self against big-league pitching. To be clear, Severino had his best stuff. It took real discipline, for example, for Rutschman to get ahead in the at-bat by laying off a 100-mph fastball that was just off the plate. But he did lay off the pitch. He then took a strike at 3-1, and subsequently launched a home run over the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital sign in right field. At no point did it feel like Severino was the major leaguer on rehab. Rutschman was the one who was too good for the league.

Our pitching at the AAA level hasn't been good in a while.

seak05
Catching for the second night in a row, feel like that didn't happen to often at Bowie
Frobby
Rutschman knocked in the tying and go-ahead runs on a 2-run single in the 7th, as Norfolk erased a 5-2 deficit and eventually won 7-5.
