I mentioned him in a previous thread, but keep an eye on him.

23rd round 2019 selection from Ole Miss and was (is?) a starter but has been piggybacking Zach Peek the last 6 or so games.

Tonight, he went 4.2 innings and only allowed 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 walks and 7 strike outs, earning the save.

This follows up a few similar games where he went 4 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 0 walks, 4 k's and 4 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk and 7 k's, respectively.

He's had a few rough games here and there, but overall has been as consistent as you want from an A ball pitcher.

At 23 out of the SEC he should probably be doing that at Aberdeen, but with the missed 2020 season it is tough to fault players for being too old for their level. There are only so many roster spots and innings to go around in the low minors and lots of guys are pitching well.

Roth, Ignacio Feliz and Ryan Watson (23 year-old 2020 senior sign out of Auburn) all have sub 1 WHIPs in piggybacking roles. Delmarva is piggybacking all their starters, no pitcher on the roster has more than 70 percent of their appearances as starts.

Yeah, the missed season probably hurt. But for a 23rd rounder, can’t really complain.

Between the missed season and getting rid of a team, it hurts some of these guys.  Otoh, I have to think every team is going through this and perhaps the average age will be higher throughout the individual leagues this year, so the numbers don’t look as enhanced as they normally would.

Actually I like the piggy back thing. If you have ten guys that need 3-5 innings for development it's much better than having a starter and then three org guys behind him throwing an inning.

In the month of July, he was 4-0 in 5 games with 2.35 ERA, 14 hits, 6 runs, 6 walks and 19 strike outs in 23 innings. Opponents hit .175 against him. 4 of these runs came in 1 game. During the first 3 games, he followed Zack Peek. The last 2, he started and went 9.1 innings with 5 hits, 1 run, 4 walks and 6 strike outs.

Curveball mid to low 70s, loopy.
Slider 80, occasional good bite but not great
Change not a lot of command, some fade 

Mostly below average stuff overall, but able to have some success at the lower level due to having four pitches. He'll have to prove it as each level on his way up.
