I generally agree with this and would like to see him being more selective. However, look at Santander...he often golfs extremely low pitches outside the zone for home runs...maybe Basallo is similar in that respect and is great at hitting low pitches for power. I certainly haven't seen enough of Basallo to make that call, but just saw a similarity to Santander in this home run. -
Yeah still haven't forgotten that absolutely nonsensical yank by Hyde in Cincinatti. He can't be pulling any of that BS today. -
They're often pretty cautious of Irvin facing the third time through the order. He has a lot of games pulled after 5-6 good innings on pretty low pitch counts. Today is definitely a day to buck that trend. -
True he will need to tighten up his swing decisions. But his seemingly uncanny ability to find the barrel will serve him as well. Both things can be true. -
There was a decent discussion a few weeks ago about what type of contract folks would be willing to extend/sign Burnes for:

I have a feeling they will give him one last chance today unless Irvin has a long start. If he craps the bed today, he's gone.
