I get a sneaky suspicion that he was playing games with the Orioles and saying that they were other people bidding for Davis’ services, when it was just the Os in the running, bidding against themselves.

Last night's Barrel was his 6th in 82 Batted Ball Events after zero for a good long time the first few weeks.

Skipped him past the Mullins-Odor-Chirinos section of the team list, and one more (feeling like it'll come about every 4th or 5th at bat about now) would bump him past the Hays-Santander-Urias section behind Barrels Lords Mountcastle and Mancini.

Mountcastle's beastly Barrleing month makes him the stat star through this lens - his Brls/PA% up to 6th MLB-wide (Judge-Stanton-Trout-Yordan-Joc).   I still like him as a candidate to lead the 2020's decade in RBI's.

Well as an Os fan, I look upon him with disdain.    And I am not sure that is his job if it involves not telling the truth (to put it delicately)

His job is to get his clients the most money.

PA is the one you look at with disdain w/r/t Davis.  No matter what Boras told them, the Os weren’t forced to fall for it.  If they got played, it’s their fault, but the agent.

I do think that Boras took advantage of an elderly owner that probably shouldn't have still been making decisions.

That's within the rules but it does leave a bit of an aftertaste.

Dan doesn't give Davis that deal.

PA had Smouse with him as well.  He may have gotten played.  And the advantage he took of him was his own stupidity for guys like Davis but Boras did nothing ethically, morally or professionally wrong.

The O's should have looked at his .199 average before his free agent year and knew a 7 year deal was a bad idea.

Completely speculative on your part.   You don’t know who was involved in the decision besides Peter.    Also, per the lawsuit, Peter’s cognitive problems began after he had a heart attack in 2017, a year after the Davis contract was done.

His obligation is to his client.  He did nothing wrong across the board.

PA wanted Davis and did what he had to do.  That was his stupidity, no one else.

If we ever bid on a top Boras client, I wonder if we will see if the "ownership-level" decision line is tried on John Angelos and Mike Elias.
