Would you take Jones Jr at full slot (or close to it) or Termarr Johnson at $1.5M under slot?

I like Lee a little better. Being a switch hitter, also with great bat to ball skills. More position flexibility. I share the same concerns with you about competition. If there are concerns about plate discipline, and they take him, they must feel they can help him improve it. If it’s true that Sig has him #1, then they must feel like he can overcome that.

I have seen his swing ugly, and I have seen it quick and powerful. I am not sure why the ugly swings, but it was in BP rounds. So, maybe he was working on a specific movement or sequence of his process.

I have done the least work on Lee of those supposedly in consideration. I have been more excited by the HS guys and the challenge of deciding which would suit the Orioles. Maybe with Johnson, I have seen too much of him. Prospect fatigue is a real thing. That is why I’m just going to support whomever they choose. I have my ideas of what I would do, but I’m just a guy having conversations.

The writeup seems fine, but other than makeup and playing for dad, not sure it screams no 1 pick.  May move off SS to 3B, good bat control but not a ton of projection/growth left.

Agreed. He’s not a first overall pick.

I do agree with the idea of taking him over Johnson though.  I think that makes more sense.

No idea how you can even fathom him over Holliday or Jones.

I started preparing myself for Lee when @NelsonCruuuuuzsaid he heard Sig likes him.  Saw somewhere Sig thinks he’s the next Bregman.  If that is the case then a 2024 infield of Mountcastle, Westburg, Henderson , Lee isn’t so bad.

Yeah I wanted Jones or Holliday. CBS has him ranked #2 FWIW. Maybe they’ve discussed a reasonable underslot? Presumably he’s also fastest to the majors.

      Holliday went 1 for 2 with 3 walks on Friday night. 2024: .444 OBP, .911 OPS MiLB Career: .447 OBP, .931 OPS His OBP is EXACTLY what this O's team needs, would fill a key offensive weakness at 2nd base, help grind opposing pitching, and magnify the power up and down the lineup.  It's all dependent on his ability to throw and play 2B at a passable level. If Holliday starts to hit at the ML level, the question of who bats leadoff is over for the foreseeable future and we can go back to complaining about 1 slumping hitter or backup catcher at the bottom of the lineup.

      This. We literally have no lineup holes right now, and Mayo, Norby, Jax lurk. Any trade discussion should center around the four most essential and crucial elements to O's success for the balance of the regular season and playoffs: 1. pitching 2. pitching 3. pitching 4. damn, forgot the 4th one. oh yeah, its pitching.

      I wouldn’t either but the word here is that he’s going back to rotation . Suarez supposedly the one  to be moved to bullpen . I think they should wait and see if Irvin can rebound . If Irvin can’t match Suarez’s work, then he should be moved to bullpen

      Yes that’s what I was asking. COC was completely off base in his comment. Judge is a great player, and apparently a nice guy. I have nothing against him, or most Yankees, for that matter, though Gil’s tats are off putting. I am expecting a bit of pro Yankee bias, but that’s ok. Also, home runs is a very glittery stat, and might sway some folks. But it should be Gunnar, at least based on the first 81.
